Nicholas Mee’s journey with Aston Martin began in 1976 when he started as a salesman. His passion and dedication to the brand quickly became evident, and by 1984, he had risen to the position of Sales Manager, a role he diligently performed until 1991. This period was crucial for Nicholas as he developed a deep understanding of the Aston Martin brand and its clientele, laying the groundwork for his future endeavours.
Founding Nicholas Mee & Co.
In 1993, Nicholas founded Nicholas Mee & Co., opening its first showroom at Queens Gate Place Mews in Kensington. This marked the start of an exciting new chapter. Kensington is known for its discerning clientele, and so the choice of location was strategic. It allowed the business to quickly establish itself as a reputable dealership for top-quality pre-loved Aston Martin vehicles.
Expansion and relocation
As the business flourished, it became apparent that larger premises were necessary to accommodate growing demand and an increasing inventory of vehicles. In 2000, Nicholas Mee & Co. relocated to Brackenbury Garage, W6. This move was pivotal, providing the company with the space and facilities needed to enhance its operations and customer experience.
Recognition and online presence
The year 2009 was a significant milestone for Nicholas Mee because the dealership was appointed an Aston Martin Heritage Specialist. This prestigious recognition highlighted the company’s expertise and commitment to maintaining the legacy and heritage of the Aston Martin brand. The following year, the business widened its reach by establishing an online presence. This digital expansion was crucial in extending Nicholas Mee’s market beyond the UK, attracting international customers and solidifying its reputation as a global player in the luxury car market.
The move to Essendonbury Farm
In 2017/18, we made a landmark move to Essendonbury Farm, Hatfield Park Estate in Hertfordshire. This relocation to grander, more prestigious headquarters marked the culmination of decades of growth and success. The new premises not only provided more space but also an enhanced environment befitting the luxury and heritage associated with the Aston Martin brand.
