Client Case Study for the 1958 Aston Martin DB MKIII DHC

We are delighted to share with you our recent Interior Refurbishment Case Study for a 1958 Aston Martin DB MK III DHC, showcasing an exciting project completed by our Car Trim and Upholstery Department during the summer months of 2023.

The DB Mk III Drop Head Coupe, a very rare car that has been wonderfully preserved, having covered just 36,000 miles in it's 65 year life. Consulting with its owner, we agreed that the condition and presentation of the interior could be improved as it was not all entirely original and worn in numerous areas. The project brief was then agreed; for us to carry out a full retrim of the interior, replacing all of the carpets and hides.

Client Case Study for The 2008 Aston Martin DBS

In this video we share with you an exciting project that we have been working on over the winter months. Over the winter our team had great fun completing a refurbishment and make over of a gorgeous 2008 Aston Martin DBS Manual. Last year a client of ours expressed an interest in purchasing a new Aston Martin. The clients requirements were very specific with a remit for an Aston Martin of excellent quality and something they could cherish for the long-term.

When inspecting the interior the vehicle leather panels and Rear Parcel Shelf on the dashboard had suffered shrinkage caused by UV light over the years. As a result we changed these and in discussion with the client put in dark grey Alcantara leather to match the seats and headlining. Some of this included changing the Upper Dash Panels, Instrument Binnacle, Carbon Fibre Gear Leaver Surround, Rear Parcel Shelf, Steering Wheel re-trimmed and headlining with contrast red stitching. This gave the vehicle a unique and smart interior.

Lastly we upgraded the vehicles entertainment system to allow it to connect to a smartphone with Apple Car Play or Android Auto integration.

Client Case Study for The Jaguar D-Type

The owners of this wonderful D-Type felt that the interior was just a little to patinated for their liking. So, using Connolly Vaumol ‘House of Commons Green’ (VM3253) the original panels were refoamed and re-trimmed.

Now re-fitted to the car, a more pleasant and comfortable place to enjoy this awesome car.

CLIENT CASE STUDY: VOLVO P1800 S INTERIOR REFURBISHMENT

At Nicholas Mee & Company we are predominately known for our Aston Martin activities, however we also cater for other marques. Following a recent project, we are pleased to share with you the details of a recently completed interior refurbishment project on a client’s Volvo P1800 S.

Being over 50 years old The Volvo P1800 S featured here, the interior was in need of some TLC, so we removed the front and rear seats and the old carpet. We cleaned and prepared the floor pan, then installed new sound insulation and new red carpet, using correct materials. The front and rear seats were also carefully refurbished by way of a deep clean and hide feed and reinstalled. We added new rear quarter upper and lower panels, as well as a new pillar pocket and surrounds to replace the old, faded panels. Finally, the car was cleaned and detailed and handed back to a very happy client, ready to be enjoyed at various classic motoring events throughout the season.
