Fit for a King, the 1989, factory original, Prince of Wales (PoW) specification Vantage Volante we are delighted to present for sale, is 1 of 22 examples commissioned to the same outline specifications as Vantage Volante chassis number 15581, specified by and built for, HRH The Prince of Wales, in 1987.
Delivered in 1989, this factory original ‘PoW’ specified V8 Volante Vantage was built with the same discreet and discerning body specifications and similar interior specifications, as the famed example specified by the then HRH The Prince of Wales, for his personal use in 1987. Needing little introduction in collector circles, this PoW is 1 of just 22 Volante’s built, to the renowned ‘X-Pack’ Vantage engine and chassis specifications and is 1 of the 22 cars which have collectively become known as PoW’s. Uniquely, this particular example is the only one to have been manufactured and delivered with the added convenience of the optional automatic transmission.
Finished, appropriately enough, in Windsor Blue with Magnolia hide interior piped Navy Blue, fitted with beige carpets and a woven fabric hood in Navy Blue. This factory-built PoW is equipped with a host of PoW specifications, including a Nardi wood rimmed steering wheel, a specially fabricated and trimmed central switch panel with sunken switches and a raised locking central armrest.
Delivered by Nicholas Mee to its first owner, Mr Stuart Hodgson, in December 1989 via Aston Martin Sales, Knightsbridge. Chassis No:-15834 one of the 22 PoW’s built, has been known to and frequently maintained by ourselves from new, whilst being much cherished and enjoyed by its previous appreciative owners.
Maintained from new by the combined services of Aston Martin Works, AM Main Agents, respected specialists and ourselves, this rare and exceptional example of the PoW Vantage Volante, has now covered just 35,500 miles from new and is in an excellent condition with recent maintenance, having been carried out in our own workshops. Including annual servicing and maintenance to the manufacturers schedule. More recently, a new Wilton wool carpet set has been tailored and fitted by our expert trimmers.
A comprehensive history file accompanies this exceptional car, including a copy of the manufacturers build record card, the original and stamped owners service voucher book, copies of service invoices and the original owner’s handbooks, along with the original vehicle jack and factory supplied tool roll.
