Heritage Vehicles Case Study

One of the recent projects completed by our Trim Department was the complete interior re-trim of a fantastic 1958 Aston Martin DB MkIII Drophead.

The project brief was then agreed; for us to carry out a full retrim of the interior, replacing all of the carpets and hides. Referring to the original Build Record for the car, the correct, original materials were used; Connolly Vaumol VM846 (Tan) leather and Wilton 'Cinnamon' Carpet. Having removed the original materials, the car was found to be in superb condition, making this project considerably easier. The project took just over a month to complete, approximately 160 hours and we are very proud of the end result. The interior is now uniform and new but importantly, correct as per the original build specification.

Modern Cars Case Study

And it’s not just classic cars that we provide interior trim services for. We regularly work on more modern cars that are suffering from tired interiors or the dreaded leather shrinkage. In this case study video below we share with you an exciting project that we have recently completed. Over the winter our team had great fun completing a refurbishment and make over of a 2008 Aston Martin DBS Manual.

When inspecting the interior the vehicle leather panels and Rear Parcel Shelf on the dashboard had suffered shrinkage caused by UV light over the years. As a result we changed these and in discussion with the client put in dark grey Alcantara leather to match the seats and headlining. Some of this included changing the Upper Dash Panels, Instrument Binnacle, Carbon Fibre Gear Leaver Surround, Rear Parcel Shelf, Steering Wheel re-trimmed and headlining with contrast red stitching. This gave the vehicle a unique and smart interior.
