We are delighted to share with you our Aston...
The Spitfire 80 edition of the Aston Martin V12 Vantage S we are proud to offer - built and delivered in 2016 - is 1 of 8, devised and exclusively sold through Aston Martin Cambridge and crafted by Aston Martin’s ‘Q’ division. The limited run of cars was in celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Supermarine Spitfire airplane, an icon of British engineering achievement.
Each example was hand finished in specially created Duxford Green Pearlescent paintwork with the trademark Spitfire speed yellow pinstripe accents. The Aston Martin wings badges are made from solid sterling silver with a tailored Old English White inlay, while owners were able to choose an original Spitfire serial number - this car wearing K5054 - lacquered into the side strakes and embroidered into the dashboard.
Inside, the Spitfire 80 is specified with Kestrel Tan hide and Black Alcantara interiors, with exquisitely detailed Spitfire inspired special features. Combining to create a highly evocative homage to the beloved icon which is the Supermarine Spitfire. Each of the 8 examples - this one being equipped with the 7-speed manual transmission - were delivered to their first owners at the spiritual home of the Spitfire, former RAF airfield, Imperial War Museum Duxford, during an emotionally charged handover ceremony in October 2016.
The cost of each Spitfire 80 was set at £180,000 – which included a £5,000 donation to the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund.
Offered to market for the first time having covered merely 2,350 miles from new, with maintenance carried out annually by Aston Martin Cambridge, regardless of the minimal mileage, this evocative car is presented in exceptional condition throughout. A complete list of the inspired and detailed Spitfire edition special features is available on request.
The synergy of the Iconic Spitfire and the illustrious Aston Martin V12 Vantage S could not be clearer, both powered by a large and enigmatic V12 engine, aluminium alloy construction, visibly stealthy and brutally beautiful in appearance, dominant and highly effective in operation, the Supermarine Spitfire and the Aston Martin V12 Vantage S Spitfire edition, could not be more aligned, albeit engineered and constructed with a different intended purpose.
Supplied with its full complement of bespoke Spitfire accessories, including a unique Irvin flying jacket with Spitfire 80 logo, Irvin Flying Helmet & Flying Goggles, bespoke Green/Brown car cover, Kestrel Tan Owner’s Manual with embossed Spitfire 80 Logo, Build Book and personalised photo album of the handover day in Kestrel Tan, along with a highly relevant cherished registration number.
