Mee Speak

Since late summer 2024 and over the last months, we are pleased to confirm we have been highly active in what was a hesitant market, completing a number of significant sales. High value cars sold, included a brace of DB4GT’s and three DB5’s, at figures between over £2m and £0.6m. Well prepared and good specification 1980’s V8’s also continued to sell well and Gaydon era cars from the noughties and teens, with low mileage and interesting specifications, remain as popular as ever. In summary, we benefitted from a healthy second half to 2024, seemingly continuing into 2025, despite the down beat slant from our daily newspapers.

Always unpredictable during deep winter, our Service and Aftercare department has also proved extremely busy, with off season maintenance and refurbishment projects, trimming works and mechanical rebuilds taking place, before the motoring season kicks-off this Spring.

Events this year, we are holding or participating in, include our successful Ten – Two Club open days at Essendonbury Farm, the London Concours and the Concours of Elegance at Hampton Court, both the Le Mans 24 hr and Le Mans Classic races and, of course, the Goodwood events, all feature in our calendar. We also look forward to attending Supercar Driver Club’s ‘Secret Meet’ for the first time.

We hope you enjoy this quick digest and look forward to hearing from you if we can be of any assistance!

Best wishes

Nick Mee

In the former, we learn all about David’s memorable career, the creation of Aston Martin Racing in 2004, his tenure as Chairman of Aston Martin, the Aston’s he’s owned and details of what he has just bought!

In the latter, Andrew Frankel and Dan Prosser interview Aston Martin Racing stalwart and all-around good guy, Darren Turner who shares the details of his career to date, the best cars he has raced, highlights of 20 years with Aston Martin Racing and most recently, his testing and development work with the Valkyrie!

VALKYRIE HYPERCAR

TO CONTEST LE MANS 24HRS 2025

One of things we are most excited about for 2025 is seeing the Valkyrie race (for outright victory) in the Hypercar class at the Le Mans 24 Hours. The normally aspirated, Cosworth developed 6.5 litre V12 engine, revving to 11,000 rpm, is going to make a sound to behold!

The Valkyrie, developed by Aston Martin Performance Technologies, will be run by the Heart of Racing team, joining those who have returned to sports cars following the introduction of the new Hypercar class - including Ferrari, Toyota, Peugeot, Alpine, Porsche and Cadillac.

The Valkyrie will be the only road derived Hypercar competing for overall honours and since its first laps in July 2024, the team have already completed more than 15,000km in a comprehensive test programme.

The last time Aston Martin won Le Mans 24 Hours, outright, was in 1959 and 2025 will be the first year since 2011 where it has aimed for overall victory. Were sure it will be the fan’s favourite and we look forward to being there cheering on the team.
