Our Service and Aftercare team now offers the supply and professional installation of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto conversion systems for selected Aston Martin models produced between 2004 and 2022.
Installed at our Essendonbury Farm workshop in Hertfordshire, the conversion introduces modern smartphone connectivity through the car’s original factory display while retaining the Aston Martin radio, menus and vehicle functions.
It provides a practical way to update an earlier infotainment system without replacing the original display or introducing an additional screen into the cabin.
Many Aston Martin models from this period remain highly accomplished cars, but their original infotainment systems were developed before Apple CarPlay and Android Auto became widely available.
The conversion integrates wireless and wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with the original Aston Martin screen. Depending on the connected phone and compatible applications, drivers can access navigation, calls, messages, music, podcasts and audiobooks through a familiar interface.
The original factory display remains in place, preserving the appearance of the dashboard and centre console. Owners can switch between Apple CarPlay or Android Auto and the original Aston Martin system using the vehicle’s existing controls.
Depending on the vehicle and selected system, the conversion can provide:
Any reversing or hazard-perception cameras shown in product photography are optional accessories and are not included unless specifically stated.
Correct installation depends on the vehicle’s model, dashboard design, factory navigation system and individual specification.
Our Service and Aftercare team will identify the appropriate conversion system before the appointment. The installation is then completed using plug-and-play connections to the original factory wiring.
No coding is required and the vehicle’s wiring does not need to be cut or permanently modified.
Access requirements vary between models. On some cars, installation is completed around the original navigation unit. Vehicles fitted with the waterfall dashboard may allow access through the boot area, while later DB11, DBS and new-shape Vantage models can require the careful removal of centre-console trim to reach the radio and factory connectors.
Once installed, the operation of the system, audio output, original menus and vehicle controls can be checked before the car is returned to its owner.
A typical installation takes approximately two to three hours, although this can vary according to the vehicle and conversion system.
Conversion systems are available for selected examples of the:
Four principal configurations cover the different factory systems used across these models.
For selected DB9, DBS, Rapide, V8 Vantage and V12 Vantage models equipped with the original Volvo Navigation system.
These vehicles must have a functioning AUX input for audio playback.
For selected DB9, DBS, Virage, Rapide, V8 Vantage and V12 Vantage models equipped with the original Garmin Navigation system.
Where the Garmin navigation unit is located in the boot, the position of the equipment can reduce wireless signal strength.
For selected DB9, Vanquish, Rapide and Vantage models fitted with Garmin Navigation and the waterfall dashboard with haptic touch controls.
On Vanquish models, the carbon-fibre body construction can affect wireless performance. A wired connection may occasionally provide the more reliable option.
For selected DB11, DBS and new-shape V8 Vantage models equipped with the newer factory screen and control system.
This conversion retains the factory information and radio displays while adding Apple CarPlay and Android Auto through the original vehicle screen.
