A superbly original and excellent example of the DBS V8 and heavily featured in substantial and definitive reference book, The Aston Martin V8, published by Palawan Press, this DBS V8 is one of just 140 built in RHD with manual transmission.
Built in 1971, finished in Aquamarine Blue with Natural VM846 Hides and optioned with ZF 5-speed manual transmission, power operated aerial and Radiomobile push button radio. A superbly original and excellent example of the DBS V8, of which in total, 402 were manufactured over 2 years and before introduction of the single headlamp and less powerful, carburettor equipped, AM V8’s from 1974 onward.
This DBS V8’s previous owner, well known in the Aston Martin community, kept the car in climate-controlled garaging, whilst regularly using it to attend concours and AMOC events. The history file accompanying the car includes maintenance invoices and ownership history covering the last 35 years, as well for restorative chassis works and a bare metal repaint in 2011. Numerous MoT certificates and correspondence from 1990 onward, accompany the car supporting the currently recorded 50,000 miles.
Sold by ourselves to its most recent owner, in 2023, the car also now benefits from a complete interior re-trim, by our in-house Trim & Upholstery Specialists, with all hides and carpets replaced, using correct materials such as Connolly Vaumol and Wilton carpeting. A Blaupunkt Bremen hi-fi, with DAB radio and Bluetooth connectivity has been installed, along with amplified high specification speakers.
Immortalised by Sir Roger Moore in his portrayal of Lord Brett Sinclair in the 1971 hit TV series ’The Persuaders’, high quality DBS V8’s have, in more recent years, become highly sought after and collected. Equally at home entered into concours events or driven as originally intended, this DBS V8, an exceptional example, presented in immaculate, concours condition throughout, is supplied inspected, fully serviced and prepared in our own workshops, with 12 Months MoT and warranty.
Available for viewing and demonstration now at our Hertfordshire showrooms.
