We are delighted to share with you our recent video of an Aston Martin DB MkIII DHC Interior Refurbishment, showcasing an exciting project completed by our Car Trim and Upholstery Department during the summer months of 2023. The subject of the video is a fantastic 1958 Aston Martin DB Mk III Drop Head Coupe, a very rare car that has been wonderfully preserved, having covered just 36,000 miles in it's 65 year life.
Consulting with its owner, we agreed that the condition and presentation of the interior could be improved as it was not all entirely original and worn in numerous areas. The project brief was then agreed; for us to carry out a full retrim of the interior, replacing all of the carpets and hides.
Referring to the initial Build Record for the vehicle, we ensured the use of the correct and original materials, specifically the Connolly Vaumol VM846 (Tan) leather and Wilton 'Cinnamon' Carpet. Upon carefully dismantling the original materials, we discovered the car to be in impeccable condition, greatly facilitating the entire restoration process.
The comprehensive restoration project was successfully completed in just over a month, spanning approximately 160 hours. The entire process took place on-site at Essendonbury Farm, our esteemed award-winning facilities located in Hertfordshire, England.
We take immense pride in the final outcome of the project. The interior has been meticulously revitalized, now presenting a seamless and new aesthetic, while adhering to the exact specifications of the car's original build.
Our fully equipped Car Trim and Upholstery Department, is highly experienced in all aspects of vehicle interiors including seat upholstery, leather, Alcantara, carpets, veneers, dashboard upholstery, and more.
We benefit from having access to the very best materials such as Connolly and Bridge of Weir hides, Wilton and Bowriven carpets etc. Having completed many projects on a range of marques, we cater for not just Aston Martin and classic cars but others such as Jaguar, Bentley, Porsche, Ferrari, Lotus and Morgan too.
From simple leather refurbishment and repairs through to complete interior re-trims, our experienced team are able to complete any brief. All work is identified and co-ordinated via our Service & Aftercare management team to ensure jobs are completed on-time and to the agreed budget.
