We are pleased to share another recently completed interior refurbishment project from our Trim & Upholstery department at Essendonbury Farm, this time involving a 2006 Aston Martin V8 Vantage.
The car has been owned by its present owners for a number of years and, having covered approximately 60,000 miles, parts of the interior were beginning to show signs of age and use.
The owners wanted to refresh the cabin while also putting their own personal stamp on the car, taking inspiration from the iconic black and gold colour scheme associated with the JPS Lotus racing cars.
The black and gold theme was continued across a number of areas within the cabin.
The steering wheel was retrimmed in black Alcantara and finished with a gold Alcantara centre stripe. The centre horn push was also painted gold.
A black Alcantara gear gaiter was fitted around the gear lever, while the centre armrest incorporated Alcantara selected to complement the other gold accents within the interior.
Additional gold details were introduced to the centre console, including the heater and stereo controls.
A number of interior components were also refinished in gloss black.
These included the door handles, window switch surrounds, speaker grilles and air vent surrounds.
The door armrests were retrimmed in Alcantara, helping to bring together the different materials used throughout the cabin.
Not every part of the original interior required replacement. The existing carpets were found to be in good condition and were retained, receiving a thorough deep clean at the end of the project.
The complete interior refurbishment was carried out over a four-week period during the summer of 2026.
The finished cabin combines premium black Connolly hide and Alcantara with the gold stitching and detailing chosen by the owners, creating an interior that reflects their personal taste and complements the exterior specification of the car.
Most importantly, the owners are very pleased with the finished result and the project has given their V8 Vantage a new lease of life.
As early VH-platform Aston Martins continue to be enjoyed by long-term owners and enthusiasts, projects such as this demonstrate the scope available to personalise and refresh these cars while retaining the character of the original interior.
