Brilliantly conceived and uniquely built, the Aston Martin V8 Super Cygnet, is an extreme accomplishment of Aston Martin engineering skills and creativity in producing the ultimate city sized supercar.
Built with the renowned Aston Martin V8 Vantage S, 4.7 litre and 430 BHP engine, power is delivered through a 7 speed paddle shifting transaxle transmission, to the rear wheels. V8 Vantage S front and rear subframe assemblies including suspension and ABS braking, were incorporated within the Cygnet’s diminutive dimensions.
This bespoke client commissioned Cygnet V8 is fully road equipped, to a specification which includes refrigerated climate control, a Carbon fibre dashboard and Vantage instrumentation, Recaro seating, a full safety roll cage and a number of unique interior fittings.
Quoted with a weight of just 1375kg, including fluids and with 430bhp available from the V8 Vantage S 4.7 litre V8 engine, the Super Cygnet has a highly impressive power to weight ratio of 313bhp/tonne. Giving acceleration to 60 mph in just 4.2 seconds and a quoted top speed of 170 mph.
Sharing only the production Cygnet’s body panels, glazing and lighting, every aspect of the Super Cygnet V8 is unique to this extraordinary example of engineering talent and imagination. Without doubt unique, extreme and highly enjoyable to drive, the Super Cygnet’s place within Aston Martin’s hall of fame and back catalogue of greats, is unquestionable.
Once seen, never forgotten. This original Vantage optioned DB6 Mk2, finished in Bahama Yellow, is the only existing DB6 Mk2 Vantage equipped with a 5-speed manual gearbox, to leave the factory when new and to remain, in this eye catching and evocative original colour specification.
Introduced in 1969, the DB6 Mk2, was produced for just 16 months, alongside the newly introduced DBS range, prior to being discontinued late in 1971. An evolution of the DB6, the Mk2’s are coveted and highly regarded by owners and collectors alike.
With a total production run of just 240 DB6 Mk2’s, only 70 examples were specified and equipped with the Vantage engine option when new.
A product of the Golden Rule*. The 550bhp supercharged Vantage of the late 1990’s was never going to be produced in a convertible form, so said Aston Martin’s senior management in period. Nevertheless, after 6 years of Vantage (coupe only) production, with the application of the golden rule from a small number Aston Martin VIP clients, 8 convertible Vantage’s were manufactured and left the Aston Martin factory at Newport Pagnell, before the shutters came down for the last time, on the traditional hand-built production facilities.
This rare Left-Hand Drive example is finished in its original colours of Cumberland Grey with Connolly VM Smoke Green hides, Charcoal Wilton carpeting bound in green and fitted with a matching hood. All 8 cars were individually specified by the persuasive 8 VIP clients and were built to European type approved and certified standards, in the year 2000. Equipped with the 550 or optional 600 bhp twin supercharged V8 engine, mated to manual transmissions. This particular left-hand drive and 550 bhp example, was optionally fitted with the Vantage ‘Le Mans’ edition instrumentation, smoked walnut veneer interior finishers and a Becker Hi-Fi unit, when built. Of the 8 special edition Vantage Volante’s constructed, only 3 left the factory in Left Hand Drive configuration, the remaining 5 being completed in Right Hand Drive for UK based clients.

Inspired and influenced by the V8 Vantage GTE race car, the GT8 was the lightest and most powerful V8 Vantage ever, when launched in April 2016. In addition to the dramatically sculpted, wide bodied carbon fibre bodywork and revised performance orientated chassis, the 4.7 litre V8 engine was upgraded to produce 440bhp.
The GT8 was available with either the 6-speed manual or Sportshift III gearbox. This combined with the dramatic weight saving of up to 100 kg (depending upon options chosen), the Vantage GT8 boasted some very impressive performance numbers including 4.4sec 0-62mph and a top speed of 190mph. Limited to just 150 cars worldwide, predictably all had sold out shortly after being announced in 2016.
Just 80 were built for the UK RHD market, 68 of which were 6-speed manual specification.
Much admired by motoring journalists and road testers alike, the profile of this model was further cemented by Aston Martin securing class victory at the gruelling Nurburgring 24 Hours in 2017 in a ‘close to production’ specification Vantage GT8.
Unveiled by Aston Martin in 2015 as the most potent and uncompromising Vantage to date: the track-inspired Vantage GT12. With production strictly limited to just 100 examples (only 28 of which were UK right hand drive), the new model combined all of Aston Martin’s learning from its highly successful and iconic GT racing programme to produce its most performance focused road-going Vantage.
Significantly re-engineered from the ‘normal’ V12 S, the GT12 shed 100kg through the extensive use of carbon fibre body panels; bonnet, bumpers, front wings and optionally, roof. The 7-speed Sportshift III transmission was also revised for quicker shifts, while the significant aero additions; a rear wing, front splitter, rear diffuser and side skirts- increased downforce by 7 times over the standard V12 S.
Chassis updates included a wider track and massive carbon ceramic brake discs. Power from the 6.0 litre V12 was increased from 550 to 592 bhp, rendering it “Outrageous and addictive, a force of nature” according to EVO’s Richard Meaden.
