A question frequently asked of myself and the team; ‘when is a good time to sell or buy a car?’ Now, without wishing to de-mystify our profession, I would like to answer with the following:
There is never a good nor bad time, just a time when it suits the prospective buyer or seller to make a decision to pull the trigger on a purchase or sale.
What is perhaps more important is, at what point in the ever-evolving cycle of the market we operate in, is a good or bad time, to make that decision?
In answer to that particularly prickly question, I would comment that right now, is a good time to buy and perhaps, not such a good time to sell.
The market, having adjusted to the temporary pandemic period, rise and fall is now at a stage where, on balance, the outlook is seemingly positive, particularly when analysing our sales data from the last 6-9 months. Despite global economic and political ‘headwinds’, the signs offer encouragement, with European buyers eyeing up cars in the UK market, (where prices are lower than their home territory), growing demand from emerging buyers, fresh from having paid down their mortgages, sold their businesses and or taken lump sums from pension pots, (before the tax man grabs a share), recent stock market turmoil prompting some to take a look at the balance of any investment portfolio and the potential of investing in an alternative, ‘tangible’ asset in the form of a collectible car, the YOLO (‘you only live once’) mindset of many and finally, interest rates dropping, resulting in reduced borrowing costs and limiting returns on sums left on deposit.
There are no guarantees over when is the right and when is the wrong time to enter or exit the market, but one thing we can and do guarantee, is that if you purchase a car from us, it will have been very carefully selected and prepared, be an excellent example of its type, a pleasure to drive and most importantly, be an enjoyable experience in purchase and ownership.
Our latest stock update, includes a fabulous selection of some of the best available of the brand and hopefully will motivate you to explore the opportunity and enjoyment of purchasing a prime condition Aston Martin from our dedicated team here at Essendonbury Farm.
With best wishes
Nick
