The DB4 GT is quite the rarity, especially since only 75 models were produced. This means that it’s not merely a precursor to the more celebrated DB5, it’s one of the British marque’s most sought-after vehicles. Here at Nicholas Mee, we’re delighted to present this exceptional sports car, fully restored to its late-1950s/early-1960s glory.

The DB4 GT was built upon the success of its DB4 predecessor, which met with considerable critical acclaim in 1958. Featuring a more streamlined body comprising lightweight aluminium, the car not only performed better due to its reduced weight, it looked smarter too. Moreover, it benefitted from a more precise and sculpted appearance that enhanced its visual appeal considerably.

Compared to the DB4, the front of the GT model features a more conspicuous grille that delivers enhanced cooling, while the rear is provided with a Perspex window that emphasises its racing heritage. Some variants are fitted with optional lightweight doors too, which further underscore its sporting prowess.

Back in the day, the DB4 GT was subjected to certain weight-saving initiatives which, nevertheless, don’t impinge on the vehicle’s aesthetic and tactile qualities.
