Nicholas Mee Racing bids to regain Aston Martin GT4 Challenge lead

Following the disappointment of an unlucky incident which curtailed NMR’s race at Oulton Park on 6th August, the team is now looking forward to this Saturday, Brands Hatch and round 8 – the penultimate round of the 2011 Aston Martin GT4 Challenge.

NMR’s sole driver for the 90-minute race will be Dan de Zille, who along with Karsten Le Blanc, is the only driver to have scored three victories in this year’s series. With a slender two-point deficit, NMR currently lies second in this year’s Challenge, and, with 12 confirmed entries, the stage is set for a truly exciting event. Hosted by the Aston Martin Owner’s Club, the Brands Hatch programme will also feature races for Aston Martins dating from the 1930s to the present day.

“Brands is effectively my home circuit,” said de Zille, “as I’ve driven more laps there than at any other track. I’m also looking forward to driving NMR’s powerful Aston GT4 again as I’ve recently been otherwise engaged competing in the 2011 Formula Ford EuroCup Championship. Saturday’s 1.5hr sprint race will no doubt be tough physically, but at the very least it’ll serve as excellent preparation for the forthcoming Britcar 24hr race at Silverstone on 1-2 October.“
