SPRING MOMENTUM
At last, spring and the motoring season is upon us! Hopefully your car is freshly serviced, primed and ready to attend the many events planned over the coming months, some of which are highlighted in this issue of FullBore Lite.
Featured below, we have a video presentation of a benchmark DBS, recently the subject of a personalisation programme. Working closely with the owner, we’ve created a unique and individually specified example which we imagine might interest owners of Gaydon built cars. Fully described and detailed within the video credits, the elements of personalisation are now available to any owner, wishing us to add an element of individuality to their cherished car.
In recent weeks we’ve been elated to see the meteoric rise of Aston Martin’s fortunes in Formula 1, with former world champion Fernando Alonso adding a little spice to the mix. With 2 podium finishes in the opening 2 races of 2023, confirming a position at the sharp end of the grid for Aston Martin and bright time ahead for the team, the brand and AM enthusiasts world-wide.

It’s certainly felt like a long winter here at Essendonbury Farm so we, like we imagine you all, are very much looking forward to a bit of warm sunshine and the motoring season to get into full swing. If you are thinking about a new car to enjoy over the summer months, maybe we have something in our current stock line up to tempt you?
Current stock highlights include a superb DB5 Convertible, a number of ‘last of the line’ Gaydon built Vanquish, including this Vanquish S Ultimate and a superb example of what we believe to be an underrated (and dare we say undervalued) hand built Newport Pagnell V8, the V8 Coupe.
Each car listed on our web-site is supported with a detailed description, multiple professional images and a feature video, allowing effective browsing from your sofa or should you wish to visit, available for viewing and demonstration at our showrooms in Hertfordshire.
In our latest video, we share with you the back story and details of an exciting project keeping a number of departments busy over the winter months; the refurbishment and personalisation of a 2008 DBS.
Having sourced the example featured for a client, we then embarked on a programme of works to return the cosmetic condition of the car to that as how it left the factory before, after a number of brainstorming sessions with our client, carrying out a range of exterior and interior upgrades, from bespoke interior fittings, carbon fibre trim goodies through to the installation of Apple Car Play compatibility.

Our much loved Ten-Two Club is back for the Spring, and the first Ten-Two Club event of the year!
All visitors (and all makes of cars) are welcome to join us for an informal gathering of like-minded enthusiasts, a freshly roasted, barista served coffee, hot food and to have a wonder around our showrooms and workshops.
The perfect excuse for a run out in your Aston Martin (or any other interesting car for that matter) and to visit our premises. We are also blessed with some fantastic driving roads in the local environs so your trip will be a memorable one!
Our Spring Ten-Two Club meeting also coincides with the Aston Martin Owners Club Spring Concours weekend, this year being held at Duxford, which is approximately 40 minutes drive so we are expecting lots of Aston Martins to visit the area that weekend and our Ten-Two Club meeting to be well attended!

As is typically the case, as we approach Easter, the clocks going forwards and warmer weather approaching, showroom activity has seen a marked increase with a number of cars sold so far in March. With a few spaces in the showroom to fill, we now require high quality examples of Aston Martin’s, of all ages, and we have an active interest in purchasing and consigning high quality Aston Martins for sale.

The 2023 motoring event season starts with a bang in April with the ever popular spring meeting, Simply Aston, held at Beaulieu in the New Forest on Sunday 2nd April. All ages and models of Aston Martin are welcome, so there’s a great opportunity to connect with fellow enthusiasts while admiring some of Aston Martin’s finest.
Aston Martin enthusiasts more local to us at Essendonbury Farm may well be interested in participating in an Aston Martin Display at Hatfield House for Aston Martin Owners Club Area 12 on Saturday 8th April. AMOC Area 12 has been invited by Hatfield House to put on a static display of Aston Martins on the Saturday of the Easter weekend. This will again be in the courtyard in front of the house. The event is open to AMOC members who wish to attend.
Finally, looking a little further ahead, the Aston Martin Owners Club Spring Concours is scheduled to take place at Duxford Aerodrome. With a new chairman and fresh thinking, the AMOC has bounced back from the internal wrangles of the last few years. Club concours inevitably took a back seat during this period but are now back and the highly regarded AMOC Spring Concours will be held at former WW2 fighter base Duxford on Sunday, 14 May 2023.

Motoring journalists have finally been allowed behind the wheel of Aston Martin’s hypercar, the Valkyrie. We have spent way too much time reading the various reviews and watching the various videos of some of the worlds finest motoring journalists trying the Valkyrie for the first time, with our favourite being this video starring Henry Catchpole, one of the most talented and considered writers out there. It also happens to have the least advert breaks!
In the video, Henry poses the question as to whether the Valkyrie is a ‘leap’ car, alike the Lamborghini Muira, McLaren F1 and Bugatti Veyron. Watch the video to find out his verdict!
