Racing
Motor Sport has for many years been a vital part of our operations at Brackenbury Garage. The ultimate arena to publically prove the capabilities of our organisation.
We have for the last several years prepared and operated an Aston Martin DB4 racecar, built by ourselves from a road car donor. A class winner in Aston Martin Owners Club racing in 2004 and 2005. In 2005 we also set upon restoring the most famous racing ex. Works Austin Healey 3000 a project carried out with great effort to preserve the cars originality whilst building the car into a class winning FIA Historic GT Sports racing car.
Both cars have been campaigned extensively and successfully in a wide range of prestigious historic racing meetings including the Le Mans Classic, Spa 6 Hours, the Silverstone Classic and Grand Prix du Provence at Paul Ricard in France.
Moving forward with our increasing involvement in the sale and servicing of the ‘new era’ Aston Martin models, we are pleased to present our new race team identify, and Nicholas Mee Racing are looking forward to taking delivery of a new racing car, the Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT4. A factory built FIA GT4 car which we will be racing in a number of high profile European sportcar races from 2009 onward.

Developed and built by Aston Martin Racing, the V8 Vantage GT4 is based on a the V8 Vantage with modifications to prepare the car for racing. Under the bonnet, the GT4 engine has been modified to enhance throttle response and outright performance resulting in an increase of over 30bhp above a standard car. At 1330kg, the Vantage GT4 is 250kg lighter than the standard car which is mainly acheived removing unneeded interior trim and luxuries. The chassis has been fitted with a full FIA rollcage and the suspension is significantly modified for optimal track performance. With air jacks fitted and other racing modifications Aston Martin have created a fantastic race car that is eligible for a wide range of sportscar racing.
Our exact 2009 racing schedule is currently being finalised. We will be combining our efforts in the new GT4 race car with a continued programme in high profile historic racing meetings in DD300, our ex works Austin Healey 3000. Race reports and results will be regularly posted in our news section
